I wanna sat nav

Looking for the best sat nav deal for a bday present

Probably want a tom tom one or garmin nuvi and would probably want a wide screen one, just uk not europe.
Was expecting Tomtom one V3 to drop in price after V4 was release yesterday but that doesn't seem to have happened.

also will V3 still get map updates now v4 is out?

would also be a big plus if I could get Mr T or knightrider voice too!
any ideas greatfully excepted.

I just received my tomtom GO 720 from ebuyer (came in 2 days instead of 5, very pleased with them despite all the negative things I'd read about them). Anyway, had done a fair bit of research on sat navs and decided on this one and so far pleased with it though haven't used it much. The reviews on trustedreviews.com convinced me really.
Apparently you can download various voices though I think you have to pay for them.
Yes it's future proof. Got the whole speed camera thing as well which is what I wanted mainly. Comes with Europe anyway, not that I'll be using that for a while.
A good resource is meant to be pocketgpsworld.com.
Good luck & let us know how you get on.

    Thanks padzter,
Ebuyers prices look pretty good. I like the look of the Tomtom 520 as its got the ipod feature etc.
Still waiting for the one V3 to come down in price too!

p.s. just looked at pocketgpsworld.com, great site thanks. I'm now tempted by the model you got (maybe just the UK version). looking for a good price now.

    Cheers.

Just ordered A Tomtom Go 520 (music edition) from Satnav Easy.
    http://www.satnaveasy.co.uk/
Was a bit nervous as they were obviously a small company but looked them up in the phone book to verify the address.

Very impressed so far. Had a customer service call this morning. Mine is the last in stock and they found the box was damaged so arranged to knock a tenner off.
So paid £152 inc special delivery. even better than The link which was the next best price (not music edition though)

Mind at put at rest about it being a legit company. They also trade on ebay but the web price was cheaper.
