CCJs and application forms

Hi All
I found out yesterday that I got a CCJ 4 years ago (long story- i didnt know about it). I have paid the debt collection agency who said they will inform the necessary people to have it marked as "satisfied" on my credit report.
I have under 2 years left for it to be sat on my file.
When i fill out an application form AFTER the 2 years (i.e. when it has been removed) do I still have to say that I have had a CCJ served against me?
Also what are my chances of being able to get a mortgage?
I am aiming to be debt free by next year, and I wanted to go through a housing association, which wont now be possible.
Any help.

Why cant you go through a housing assoc?
Once the CCJ drops off you dont need to mention it, and you should be fine to get a mortgage. My friend and her OH had about 4 between them, and more recent thn yours, and they had no problems, they just had to prove that the CCJs had been satisfied. Maybe with the 'credit crunch' it might not be as easy, but having had a CCJ thats dropped off file wont stop you.0 -
Hi
Thank you for your post.
I just phoned the housing association and they said would accept an application form even though i have a CCJ which is great news.
Thanks for the other info.
I spoke to a financial advisor and she said to wait for a while because of the credit crunch. I dont want a mortgage until next year anyway, so all should be good.

Silly question maybe but could you not also apply for the ccj to be 'set aside' on the basis that you didn't receive the paperwork?? Might be worth a google or call to one of the debt charities anyway. You don't ask you don't get.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

HI
I did think about this and spoke to the court etc and it costs £75 to do, and National Debt Line said i dont really have a leg to stand on as I didnt let the debtor know i had moved and so they are within their rights to send it to the last address they have. Basically i dont think it would be worth it.
Thanks anyway though
