Free parking in St helens or way to there from wirral

Have just been offered a job in St helens, only problem is am travelling from the wirral so got to decide if worth it or not, problem is its £2.80 for the tunnel and then i have to pay for parking as well, which will not really make it worth going for the job. Does anyone know of any free parking or a good sugestion of getting there and back cheaply?

Don't know how old you are but possibly the train using a young persons railcard if you are under 25?

hi bakerlad, I live in St Helens, where abouts is the job, can then tell you were it's best to park. Some free areas not to far from town centre. But if your slightly out of town centre the parking is free.
Cheapest car park is about £3. a day.

I do Wallasey to St Helens in just over half hour once per week.Trains and buses not worth the hassel standard car with tunnel/fuel and parking (although parking is often good most times and the day)free if you look around and put in a small walk. If you set off from Wirral after 8 it will take a hour
