Paypal Problems

I have done a quick search but cannot find another topic of this nature. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This seems a largely untouched subject, although a few sites out there leading campains against the internet money giant. It seems so many people have serious problems with paypal but so little comes out.
paypalsucks.com - although rather childish and often seems like an advertising campain for a large rival firm - does allow users to share their experiences and from what I have seen it is all rather shocking the things they are getting away with.
The legality of thier polices is being questioned but to little avail. People are loosing money due to paypal, some times in large quantities although I wouldnt like to seculate on the nature of these 'errors'.
I myself have lost close to £100 (a large sum for a student) due to paypal attempting to take money from an account without funds to cover a transaction already paid for...
Customer servies leave you simply shouting at your computer or down the telephone at a useless voice recignition bot without ever being able to speek to a real person.

Any thoughts?

  • paypal are complete scum, a law unto themselves, they will insist on following their terms and conditions so rigidly that they are prepared to aid and abett obvious fraud (eg, a seller sells a car on ebay, buyer pays with paypal, collects car from seller, leaves positive feedback, days later complains to paypal "item not received", seller has proof of buyer signing documents and driving off in car, paypal say "not interested. we're giving this conman his money back cos you didn't send the car via royal mail special delivery"

Cars are exempt from having paypal required as a payment option, if a seller chooses to accept paypal then it is at their own risk.

There is a problem however with other items that need to be collected, heavy furniture and such like, but as a pink on the ebay forum actually was brave enough to state that ebay might not be the best place to sell items that cannot be posted, I think that shows you that the problem of not being able to post certain items as per the paypal requirement is a known problem. Paypal are still saying that paypal is not suitable for items that cannot be tracked to delivery.

Many of us have now chosen not to use ebay to sell heavy items that cannot be delivered by a tracked means.
