At the beginning of the year we had a lightbulb moment and realised we had £25k debt and loads of debtors.
I contacted CCCS (who are fab) and they helped me sort out a realistic budget and advised token payments of £1 for all our creditors as we literally didnt have any extra after being on the lowest allowed budget.
Anyway.... that was then, and after fielding abusive calls, dealing with tonnes of letters and emails and defaults, we finally have managed to whittle down the calls (and letters) to one or two a fortnight. I rang cccs today to update them and as I've manage to up our income a regular amount to £135 more than what we had at the beginning of the year, I've been told to ring back next month and they will seriously consider starting us on a DMP!
THANK GAWD! At the amount we'd be able to pay it would still take 17yrs to pay off everything in full but the bonus is that we'd actually be on a DMP and aiming to increase the payments fairly soon afterwards therefore bringing forward our DFD! . I know we are still a way off but SO pleased to have got here which is a long way fromwhere we were at the beginning of the year (no small amount due to MSE and you lovelies!).

Fingers crossed your 8 becomes 5 very soon!MSE-ing since 20070
