    Hi itsacorker,

Firstly welcome and well done in taking your first tentative steps forward. We are all here to assit so any questions please ask away.

The first thing to do is speak to one of the free debt charites like the CAB or CCCS, i read above you have been on the website which is a good source of knowledge but speaking to an advisor directly is so much better to make a specific decison on your situation.

Secondly, you need to try and bring yourself to opening all the post that has been gathering so that you can make an informed decision as to what to do next. An iva may be an option as may BR but until you know how much is owed and to who its impossible for you or any of us to offer the correct advice.

please do keep asking away if there's anything specific we can do

    Dave.

OH MY GOD i know how you feel! and believe me not having the student overdrafts is not a bad thing! as a mature student you would of thought i could of handled them! but noooooo! so there i was 2 yrs later and still not living out of my student overdrafts! and working full time!

Anyway! first thing i suggest is finding a friend that won't judge you and help with the opening of the letters! i had a very large box full of letters that i didn't want to open, but they won't go away, and could lead to knocking on the door that you won't want to open!

Write down what you owe to who and ring the cccs, they were a great help, and not at all judgemental or 'off' with me, they listen to people in our situation alllll day everyday!
The advisor will give you your options and you will know exactly where you stand!

BE STRONG! i personally thought the letter opening was the worst part!

Good luck and keep us posted! oh and keep using these forums they have helped me and a lot of other people in our situation, life can be better
