My local Tesco's extra recently opened up an opticians - I was browsing and they offred me a free eye test. Also if you need glasses they start from £20 including lenses and they currently have a BOGOFF on all glasses over £75 - Designer ones are £130 and rimless £159 - all including lenses. As much as I don't like their taking over of the world, you can't beat this.
EDIT - Does NOT include Armani Glasses - Tesco Finest rimless Titanium - £120

its funny you mention this offer as i was in there today looking at the glasses. I choose 2 pairs, one a rimless at £120 and the other was armani prescription ones at £140. I was told that the designer ones which are designated sunglasses you can only get the frames free not the lens so i was prepared to pay £200 for the 2 pairs (i fell in love completely with the aviator armani ones and the lense were £80 and frames £60)
when he was ordering it wouldnt let him put it through, so he called another assistant over, she said oh no you have to put it through as £140 and then she will get the £120 ones free. Result i thought paying less than £200 and i had a £10 off voucher and would of got £60 hsa money back.
The man orders all the glasses and gives me the paperwork only thing left for me to do was pay. Went to the till and it didnt take the discount off, so he gets the other lady, oh i dont know why that is she says. Calls another lady over, why is this not going through she asks.
This new lady then commented oh you cant get discount off armani ones. It was in tiny tiny small print on the leaflet that i hadnt seen!! Also 3 members of staff had served me by this time and not one of them had mentioned it
 by this time it had taken me well over a hour to get to this point i was hungry and fed up, they wouldnt budge so i left without buying any glasses as i could not be bothered to search for another free pair.
Tesco have lost a glasses customer out of me now0 -
Divadee, I can't blame you or that, what a carry on, you would have thought they would have let it pass this time (good customer care) then you would have been happy and they would have known how to do their job!
Has to be said I got mine this way nearly 2 years ago (getting new ones in the next 2 months) and I have only worn one pair cause the others I decided were minging!!hahaha! cant wait to get my new ones! They have lasted fine! You may walk and you may run
