Is It Possible To Change From Cccs To Payplan?

Hello All
Just A Very Quick Question.. I Have Been On A Dmp With Cccs For About 3 Years Paying Between £700 - £900 Per Month. They Are Threatening To Terminate My Dmp Now Cos I Have A Made A Few Months Payments A Little Short Of What We Agreed. Is It Possible For Me To Change To Payplan? Will Payplan Get Funny Etc About It?
Thankyou

    Hi,

I don't have an answer to your question but I thought I'd give your post a nudge as I'm sure someone else can help.

    Good luck!

In short, no. Payplan will most likely refuse you because you've not kept up to your agreement with CCCS. It's also highly likely your creditors will decide to opt out of the DMP and there's no legal obligation for them to comply with a request for a DMP.

You'd be better trying to negotiate lower payments if your circumstances have changed.

    Hi,

    Just a thought.

As you are paying between £700-£900 per month, I assume that your CCCS payment figure is lower. If they can not reduce the amount that they want from you, how about paying what they want, and putting the rest in a savings account? Then, once a year call them up, and say I have £2000, can I pay that to you to split across my creditors?

Hope that this makes sense (it is really early)

Talk to the CCCS, I had my annual review and they suggested a rise in payments.

However I know that for the next two months my wage will drop, so they have agreed to drop the payments for those two months.

Then we go back to the increased amount.

I find them really helpfull, but you need to keep them informed. We missed a payment and informed them. They were cool about it, we paid direct to the compaines.

If you didn't inform them first I can understand them threatening to terminate your DMP as I understand they don't like it. But, if the circumstances were reasonable enough, say temporary drop in income or urgent car repairs then explaining it to them should help immensely, and it would get them back on your side. Payplan probably wouldn't take you on and your creditors my ditch the DMP if your payments vary without your DMP providers knowledge or consent.

I was with Payplan and I personally wouldnt recommend them. They were ok at the start btu wouldnt really help me since. I have now decided to become BR and they keep trying to push an IVA on me, even though it is clear from my budget I cannot afford it.

I agree with shinyhead. If you keep them informed, I find they are generally ok. I've warned them that I may face redundancy in August and therefore may not be able to afford what I am paying now for a month or two until I get myself another job. They just asked me to keep them informed and we would look at my budget nearer the time if I am definitely being made redundant and they seemed fine about it.

I've also found that creditors can get quite nasty if you pay them extra money for one or a few months and drop down to less as they expect the higher payment all the time. I've been through that and creditors seemed to think that if I could afford to pay extra or lump sums every so often then I could afford to pay them more than I am currently paying and expected it all the time.
