NHS Agenda for change Back Pay

Hi everyone
Looking for any advice regarding chasing my local NHS trust for backdated pay that they owe me.
For those that are not NHS workers. I'll explain a bit
NHS changed the way it was grading jobs and pay scales.
The changes were meant to come into force 2003/2004.
However they didnt change for my trust until 2006.
It was agreed the pay awards would be backdated.
Im owed pay between what I was paid and should have been paid between 2003/2004 and summer 2006.
Fast forward to now, summer 2008 and Im still waiting for this pay. I have since left the NHS.
According to payroll, there is no system to the order they are paying people in. Apparently they are doing it in a purely random fashion.
Therefore they cannot tell me when to expect this money. That is what they told me in 2006 when I left and today when I called. For all I know, it could be another 2years.
If i had that money put in a good savings account it could be earning a nice amount of interest.
Anyone got any ideas of how I can proceed with this?
If this was any other business apart from the NHS, they'd have been in court long ago surely?
Thanks for reading

It is really frustrating and i feel for you, i finally got my back pay last summer after breaking down in tears in front of my manager and threatening the trust with the union. If you are in rcn get in touch with them.0

if no longer with them, would send notice of pending county court action- they are well known for dragging heels over paying people.
if no responsem, then need to follow through- should have a good case if what you say in OP has been documented.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
The information you have been given from payroll is, unfortunately, correct. Due to a lack of management commitment (funding), resources are limited and they payroll staff have their normal "bread and butter" daily routine duties to perform as well as progressing with the outstanding arrears of pay. They will most likely draw random lots from payroll numbers and process them in batches of so many each week.
In terms of recovering lost interest, i think your Donald Ducked with that one.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
