Just soak the whole newspaper through and roll it up and leave it to dry, same effect and saves the cost of the machineHello again0

Can you tell me how long they last when you burn them?
We have an open fire but I use one of the log makers that you dont have to wet the papers to make, you roll paper around a tube and stuff it. They dont burn well from the start, but add alot of flame to an already going fire. But they last about 10 mins.

half an hour or so.. we put it on with wood at the time.
I got one from a wanted ad in the newspaper.
You do needs loads of paper though... much better if you can mix with coal dust if you have any left over.Give somebody a hug it costs nothing

Does anyone have any hands-on experience of using these and, if so, what are the opinions?
It seems to me that there's a potential new fuel source here, although I realise the idea's been around for years.0 -
I had one, must be 20 years ago now, took 2 weeks to dry one brick so I would have various stages of drying bricks all over the place. gave up.
I make small balls now to burn using my office shredding, take a few days to dry, easy to store and burn well.
others may have had better success with the logs makers than me though.0 -
You need a bit more research Chris.
Haved read they all ash and not much heat.0 -
i have one , as ken68 says not much heat comes out.
They last about an hour on the fire (though it depends on how tightly packed the brick is)0
