I've emailed them twice and had no replies and I've phoned countless times only to be told that they are too busy and phone again later. Has anyone got a different telephone number to the one on the website?

You can phone World Books by using the number 01793 548100 which gets you through to Book Club Associates, the parent company, then ask for World Books.

Instead of using an 0870 number use the website
saynoto0870 and you will get an alternative - and cheaper - phone number.
