Car Service plan mis- Sold, £25 fee??

HI,

this Forum is great!

I have a problem I would like some help with.

In December, I purchased a nearly new car. I also was sold a Service plan- Pay £28 a month and all my services will be covered.

At the time I specifically asked what happened if I needed to cancel, and I was assured the money went into a trust fund, and it remained mine. Should I cancel, it just gets returned.

no paperwork or contact I had before the Plan was signed mentioned an Admin fee for cancelation. There is a small mention on the rear of the paperwork I got AFTER I had paid the first payment.

I recently sold the car and cancelled the policy, after almost a 4 week wait, I got my cheque minus a £25 admin fee.

This was not told to me by the dealer, it seems that the Service plan is run by a company called Emac and they are no relation to the car dealer. (main dealer)

I feel I was mis-sold the policy, but don't know what my rights are.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Andrew

I think it would be usual for this type of fee when an arrangement such as this is cancelled - and £25 is about right for the admin.

If you want the £25 back, the best way is to go into the showroom when they have customers around - for the sake of £25 I can't see them making an issue out of it?
