Hello OSers
OK here's the challenge. When on holiday recently - the MSF and I ate Peruvian Corn in a restaurant. This is huge corn, some of the individual pieces are over half an inch wide... but we can't find it anywhere in the UK to buy and cook it...
Does anyone know - can anyone help?

Have you thought of contacting Peruvian restaurants like Tito's and Fina Estampa in London and asking where you may be able to purchase it? I've done that with Mexican foods before. One day I might be more organised...........

Is this what it looks like??
This might help to explain why you can't get it anywhere:
http://seedexchange.tribe.net/thread/20e2ef4b-5034-4943-9ec2-27e7f52a6ca0
If you do want to try and grow it, them seeds can be purchased from:
http://www.halcyon.com/tmend/exchanges.htm
or
http://www.naturalzing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=786
The only possible place I can find in the UK which might help is:
Peruvian Imports Ltd
Unit 7 Field End Long Crendon, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP18 9EJ

Or you could ask in some of the Argentinian Restaurants in London?0 -
Dont know if this is any use to you Martin?
Here is some more info, they deliver to the UK, not sure if the giant corn is the one you are talking about. It is known as choclo apparently. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Hi Martin
You could try growing your own
Corn is really easy to grow (though you may be too late for this year) and you get it at its freshest and best
This site has seed. It's US based, so there may be import issues, but you may be able to get it closer to home.
