Lloyds TSB - Please can anyone help me

Hi

I am asking if anyone can advise me how to go about sorting out a debt with Lloyds as they are not responding to any of my letters.

Heres the problem in a nutshell.... My partner has an overdraft and Loan with lloyds for approx £5000.00 previously each month a direct debit was taken out of his current account to pay off his loan, that was until he started having money problems and the finances were not available in the account to pay the monthly aggreement. (oh this started about a year ago)

So... he wrote to lloyds saying that he was having difficulties paying and would they consider consolidating both the loan and the overdraft and he would pay one amount towards the both and would they lower the monthly payment and lastly to cancel the direct debit from the current account

This letter was not replied to charges were constantly being applied to the overdraft increasing it by £60.00 a month

he then wrote again asking the same question in the previous letter but could they also stop any further charges as he had aked for the direct debit to be cancel and consider refunding any previous bank charges regarding this situation since his first letter.

Result..:T (so I thought) this letter was replied to but only advising that reclaiming bank charges was hold and they would let us know:mad: (what!!)

He then wrote yet again! asking the same question as the first letter, no satisfactory reply again but a letter offering a reduced amount to pay off the loan in full!!!!!

He has now written about ten letters to Llloyds and also eventually to the financial ombudsman but to be honest they are not that quick.

He has now received a letter from a debt collection agency acting on instructions on behalf of lloyds to collect the debt .

He just seems to be comming to a brick wall with lloyds now and there seems nothing he can do until they reply.

Can anyone out there help!!! i refuse to ring them because it is so costly and at least we have copies of the letters sent.

Does anyone also know if we might be able to now get this debt written off

Thankyou so much
