Dealing with DCA's ?

Hi,
I have just started my DMP with CCCS and am waiting for the dmp's to be accepted, or not, by the Credit card companies.
Reading throught the threads I can see it is likely that sooner or later the debts will be sold or passed to a DCA to manage.
At that point they are going to call trying to intimidate me into paying more than I was previously paying to the Card company itself under the dmp.
My question is do I need to give the DCA more than my CCCS number and have them contact CCCS directly or do I need to get the DCA to mail me with their details so I can pass them onto CCCS to start paying them instead of the Credit card company ?
Thanks

IF a DCA calls you give them your CCCS number and advise them that everything must be in writting ask them to then remove your telephone number from their records. Follow this up by writing to the creditor recorded delivery advising this.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Hello:j & welcome.
I can only speak from my own experience (currently on DMP with CCCS)
What usually happens is that when debt is passed to DCA they write to you - usually a really threatening letter, or it sounds threatening, the clue is usually in there somewhere 'this MAY happen if you don't pay us lots of money, that COULD result if you don't pay us........ etc);)
All we did was advise them on the phone that we were in a DMP with CCCS and give them the number, and advise that we would arrange a copy of our Income & Expenditure form to be sent to them. Then ring CCCS (or do it online) and ask them to amend the details of that debt to go to DCA and send out a copy of I&E form. They are really good I've found and they are quick to do this.
The DCA will probably be saying that the payment isn't enough etc etc..
Tough, it's all you can afford.
The tactic they use on the phone is to threaten that they will take this to court, and you could lose your home etc. We just got fed up and replied with 'do what you need to do, we can't pay you any more than we are doing, ok?' and eventually they left us alone & accepted payments. ( been quiet for around 8 months now:rolleyes: - hopefully it will stay that way)0 -
Thanks for the replies0

Just to add, the DCA's DO NOT have to deal with the CCCS and quite a few refuse to do so and there is no legal requirement for them to take any notice of the CCCS at all.0
