Free 6 Pounds at Tesco!!

Beware: I went to Tesco last Saturday to pick up the leaflet -- they had to search but managed to find one. I took it home to read because I didn't know I had to register in the shop.

Today (18 October) I went back, with leaflet, club card and credit card. First I registered -- the bar-code in the leaflet and my club card were scanned in an instant. Then the problems started when I said that I wanted to pay in money. The assistant disappeared for ages and came back with a supervisor; they fiddled around and eventually told me that it would take a few days for my registration to be processed, and only after that could they accept a payment. Oh: and the scheme ends this week! And no, they can't contact the clubcard people and ask them to speed things up -- at this point the supervisor told me that I should have registered months ago!

All in all, the time and hassle wasted outweigh the six pounds, even if I end up getting it!

Tesco Clubcard Christmas savings scheme offers a series of rewards for depositing money in their savings scheme.

a) if you deposit 49 pounds to 96.99 you get a free pound voucher
b) if you deposit 97 to 143.99 you get a free 3 pound voucher
c) if you deposit 144 pounds (or more) you get a 6 pounds voucher!!

So deposit 144 pounds in mid october and make 6 pounds by November - every little 'elps (not a bad interest rate for a months deposit or less i worked it out roughly as 4% profit for a month's deposit)

Important ! you need to deposit this money before November (safest i believe is mid october) - as the vouchers will be sent with your November clubcard statement. The vouchers are not clubcard deals vouchers- just bonus vouchers that must be spent at tesco. And you can spend the money that you have deposited as soon as you receive the vouchers in November.


ps. we have 3 clubcards in our house= 18 pound sprofit- and we shop at tesco anyway.

Re Morrisons, I note that their savings stamps cannot be spent until November. - very close now! If you use the savings stamp scheme you qualify for £1 bonus once you have bought £49 worth of stamps. I regularly spend about £50 there. Is it possible to go to the checkout, buy £49 stamps then go shopping and claim my extra £1. If so I'll be doing it every week.
