Another stupid question - popcorn

Is a £20 popcorn machine capable of supplying the demands of 100 children over a 2 hour period? If so, other than corn for popping and a machine to do it with, what else would I need?

hi, i always make popcorn in a large saucepan with a lid, the type you`d make a large quantity of soup in. basically cover the bottom of the saucepan with a thin layer of veg oil heat til hot then put a single layer of popping corn which is dead cheap in the bottom of pan. put lid on and wait til you hear it start to pop. then shake pan over heat gentle until popping starts to slow down thats when you know it is cooked/ready. although a single layer of corn doesnt look much it will fill the pan up to the lid. spinkle with caster suger etc of serve plan. its done in a matter of minutes and makes loads there is really no need for a machine this method i would of thought will be quicker than a machine and make much much more at a time. hope this helps. x

We did popping corn using two machines at a school fete. No problem. Ask around to borrow the machines.
We also popped the corn at the start of the fete so that we had plenty to begin with in a big bowl.
Had sugar and honey for topping, though many liked it plain.
Warning... makes a mess of the floors, kids trod the stuff into the hall.
