Hi, no offer wasn't accepted (don't think sales advisors even put the offer through). We've pulled out of our sale now due to buyer messing us about, he had mortgage valuation done and said it was down valued £30,000 but doesn't want to show us a copy of the survey (before mortgage valuation was done he said he would give us a copy of it to discuss it). All along we didn't think he had the money (he has no chain and it has taken 3 months to have the mortgage valuation done). Have another buyer but they haven't sold their property yet.0

Discounts can be had but not THAT much :eek: Kudos for trying though, like you said..the worst they can say is no.
We completed a month ago and got a £50k reduction on a house priced at £230,000. It was already discounted and was the only plot left for sale.
Haggled for extras and got carpets, curtains, blinds, f&fs, fully landscaped garden, legals etc etc
Luckily we got over top dollar for ours and can withstand a house pricing reduction of 50% before we start hitting negative equity. The new mortgage is also 2% lower than the previous one we had and now fixed so we have peace of mind. Glad we didn't get a mortgage today as they are crazy :mad:

50K discount - just shows some builders are willing to bargain - was it a small build site and had you sold before purchasing the new build? I'm waiting to hear about a new build "deal" at present. Only thing is it would be on a type of easy move scheme and the house isn't built yet as the builder is on;y building to order.Hi Guys,

My partner and I are thinking about making an offer on a new build and the girl is phoning us every five minutes too. The house is standing empty already built, and there are two more like it on the estate.0 -

I looked at a new build in feb and viewed it several times to mid May. It was really more than I wanted to pay. It was priced at £190,000 and at that time was one of four remaining. The other three sold in May and it is the only one unsold. The sales office has now closed and it is being marketed by local estate agent.
Property in my area is definately falling in price. Many now going to a fixed price rather than achieving the former 20% plus over asking (Scottish system).
What would be a resonable offer? I haven't sold yet, so it is very hypothetical unless I make a very silly low offer and let my current house.0
