Holiday help!

Hi all, I'm on leave from work from Thursday, and not back until the 30th.
To stop me going mad from boredom and climbing the walls I've decided that on each of the days I should be working I must get out of the house for 8 hours (the length of my shift) so I don't spend it slobbing on my butt.

So...any ideas what I can do? Apart from taking the dog up on the Moors for a long walk I'm clueless! I'd like cheap or free days out ideas please (I am an MSEr after all) and if possible somewhere I can take the pooch so she's not cooped up either.

I don't have a car, but I do have a bicycle, so can travel a little. I am in Plymouth.

I look forward to your suggestions! :D

Have a look at the tourist information site for your area - although your obv not a tourist to the area it will give you ideas you may not have thought of or known about.

I have found loads of walks I never knew we had off our local one x x

ps enjoy your hols and I would have at least one day of doing nothing - they can be my favourite days! x x

Check out your local free paper, my local one is a wonderous source of what's on in the area - do you have one?

There is nothing wrong with slobbing on your bum, take some time out to do just that. Enjoy your time off
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
  • What about a day walking at Mt Edgcombe? Go across on the Cremyll ferry.

If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

if u have Kelloggs cereal - use the coupons for a day out to the zoo/aquarium or for the free swims (depending on which boxes u have lol), it wont fill lots of days but a bit of one or 2 i guess :) and its freeeeee

cycle the camel trail Bodmin to wadebridge to padstow - or part to suit your fitness. Cycle plymbridge woods . Walk dartmoor. Walk Plymouth sights. Use tesco vouchers for cafe rouge or bella italia. Walk saltram grounds - I think they are free.

    Hi,

Try the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth. It's free, open all year round and they are very dog friendly so long as they are on a lead.

I had a free paper delivered today, not looked at it yet :o will do when I get home.
I am going to have a few lazy days, but if I don't keep myself busy I end up counting the days til I go back to work!:rotfl:

Great! Doesn't say if they allow dogs on the ferry so will check that out :D

Ooooh, not seen the Kelloggs offer! I will have to check that out and see if Plymouth Aquarium will accept :D.

Oh :( looks like our aquarium isn't in the scheme. I might still go thou, as I've not been in years.

Plymbridge woods & Saltram sound good, and I was planning to take Shadow (and a picnic) up on the bus to Dartmoor.

Hi my suggestion is rather sad for one of your days off, but it's something which is niggling me in my home.

1 day to sort out all of your paperwork and those irritating little niggles that just never seem to get done but would really only take 5 mins, like gluing on the handle to that mug you love but just can't bear to throw away.

I know this seems like a really dull suggestion for you holiday but if I've got my affairs in order I always feel so much better and more positive about things. :o

No that's a good idea, the landlord is coming round to paint the bathroom sometime, so I can sort the rest of the house :D

if you're sorting the house how about a car boot sale/ table top sale if you don't have a car? might make you a few quid, hopefully.
