Nationwide Wrong mortgage address

Hi all,
Just phoned Nationwide to renew my mortgage to be informed that they have the wrong address for my mortgage. They wanted me to go in and confirm it (in branch) How does this leave me in standing with my mortgage? How can my house be mortgaged if they have the wrong address on the agreement? I said if i cancelled my direct debit what could they do as they on record have me down as owning another property?
Thanks in advance
Leanne
