    Some suggestions:

    Argos

    Game (bundle)

    Toysrus (bundle)

If you have an old playstation or games to trade in, Game (instore)may be your best bet.

I am looking to buy a ps2 and eye toy for a 12th birthday present next week. 1. What's the difference between black and silver? 2. Is the memory card a necessity and why? 3. Is anywhere cheaper than £145.97 on Amazon (includes memory card and dualshock pack)?

    1) There is no difference between the black and siler PS2 it's just down to personal preference and think the silver one is about £10 or £20 more expensive as it was released after the black one

    2) Memory card is essential as the PS2 does not come with a built in harddrive and it is CD based games so you will need to save games via the memory card

    3) the game website below has some bundle deals for black slimline from £114 and silver from £124 and if you get a loyalty card before you buy it you will get some points on it and in turn you will recevie a voucher for money off at the shop.

Hope this is of some help to you
  • slowen's covered all the points but go for Game as they are good, obviously get the card but they also give student discount too, supposed to be on software only but sometime they'll give it on hardware. Also they will trade in old games, in the past when I've bought bundles I've not wanted all the games and traded some in to knock down the price. HTH.
2p off is still 2p off!

Having looked at the game website and seen that the ps3 is due out next year it seems a bit daft to invest in a ps2 now, maybe I'll have to think of something else for next week. Thanks for the advice.
  • I would advise against trading your games in anywhere, you will always get a better price if you sell them yourself (often two times what they pay).

Game are nearly always the most expensive place to buy anything!
  • get him a psp then
