Just wanted to record what I have done in the last week in the way of small moneysaving things...
Saved £10 a month on Virgin Media by removing the TV channels, wasn't watching them anyway so now only paying £20 for the phone and broadband
Saved £12 a month on mobile contract by using Martin's advice and www.onecompare.com was a brilliant comparison site to get the best deal and a new phone.
Saved £10 a month on car insurance by using www.confused.com to go from Third Party Only with Tesco to Fully Comp with Co-operative and for £10 less a month!
Saved £15 a month by paying off my House of Fraser card, having paid off the minimum amount only for 8 years i finally set up an extra standing order of £20 a month and now i have finally got rid of GE Capital - so long suckers!
Saved £40 a month by cancelling the gym membership i rarely used. To be fair on me, i did take Martin's advice and took out the Prudential health insurance for £25 where you got gym membership free if you went more than twice a week. But i was lax and missed out on it being free by mising two visits! decided to cancel it for now until i have enough time to devote to it and make sure i go twice or more a week. By doing that, it is a brilliant way to save money on your gym. Mine was a local Cannons.

Nice job MP.
I'd make sure you get a letter from the gym confirming cancellation of membership though - a few don't seem to like letting go and try to say you didn't fully comply with the T&C. I'd get something in writing before forgetting about that one.
Keep up the good work. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Thanks guys. It was all from using this site, the forums and Martin's advice. I consult it before any related decision!
Thankfully, i have the letter confirming the cancelled gym membership. It was all pretty easy, i would recommend that deal for any gym-goers. Other than me - i wasnt motivated enough, i find the gym equipment so boring. The classes would probably be a better idea. Still doing kickboxing twice a week and thats £40 a month but thats part of the SummerBodyExpert i want to be - a lifelong struggle for the elusive bikini body i think!:money:0 -
