Washing Machine faulty - Rights

I purchased a new Indesit washing machine just before Christmas and have had to call out the repaiman twice since. I am waiting for him at the moment and wondered if I had a right to a new machine as this one is obviously faulty. Any advise wold be gratefully accepted.

R?ing consumer direct but can you give more details of the repairs. Are they the same faults, or different ones.

They are different faults. The first one was that the back plate of the machine had been placed near to the drum and was grinding against it when it was washing and spinning!!!!!!!!!. The second fault is that the machine will not spin anymore. It does drain and you can hear it trying to spin but it still doesn't. I am still waiting for the repair man as he has not been yet. These faults occurred three months apart.

It's a bit of a difficult one, tconsumer direct told me that if it is the same fault occuring three times or more then you have grounds to ask for a replacement. On the otherhand if you are getting occurring faults then it maybe worth writing to retailer and asking them to give you a replacement under the Sale of Goods act 1979, all goods should last a reasonable amount of time and be fit for use. How did you pay for it?
