Argos Staff Discount

hi just wondering if any fellow argos staff could clear this up for me?

I am after a certain product (dont want to give myself away:D ) and would like to use my staff discount as well as a gift voucher i have, now i know that if you swipe the gift card through and then apply the staff discount, the till wont let you do this:mad:

so what i was wondering is would it work if i typed in the staff discount and then use the gift card;)

any info would be greatly appreciated

i have no experience of the new tills yet, but i know that the old tills will let you use gift cards so long as they go through before your staff discount.

it can be done and is not against company policy.

I've never seen a new till - are they any good lol?

If you have an EGC (electronic gift card) you have to use that first and THEN you can apply the discount, but I think if you have a paper gift voucher you can apply the discount BEFORE the voucher is used. Would this be right?

no, if memory serves then both types of voucher (paper and EGC) will prevent staff discount going through

is it not because you can buy gift vouchers with SD? So you would be getting it twice??

No, it's the way the tills have been programmed.
You can apply the discount AFTER the vouchers have been used. If you try and swipe an EGC after you have applied the discount the voucher won't be accepted, however I am unsure if this applies to paper vouchers, may give it a try tommorow, and void the transaction afterwards.
