Hope this is the right place to post this...
My plastic swing seat inherited from an elderly neighbour is filthy and I can't get it clean. I have used bleach, but the plastic itself seems to have turned black in places.
Does anyone know how I can get it clean again? Or do I have to resort to spray painting it brown to make it look nice again?
Sugar soap was suggested by the lad at Homebase, but I never trust lads at Homebase... lol

Your going to laugh but I usually give mine a once over with a very weak mixture of toothpaste and water. Rub it all in and then rinse off, then buff it up with a dry cloth. I don't know what the black bits are you mention though. Is it mould or mildew or something?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I don't know what it is - the alagae comes off with bleach, and it's not mould. I think the plastic itself has turned black as it is not on the surface, which is why I don't know what to do. Think maybe it is past it - might have to repaint it. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I used Astonish cream on my garden chairs and they came up a treat.
