Hi would love some advise, noticed that there is a real need for a creche in my area and would love to start one up but have no idea where to start, iv always wanted to work with children but have never had the chance to go to collage, now having a job and a 1 year old its impossible!
Does anyone have any info on starting a creche? If I was not qualified myself could I set one up and hire a qualified manager?
where would I learn all the guidelines ie health and safety ect
is there a minimum qualification I could gain part time or evening??
would love any help, thanks
stacey

I would recommend looking a childminding, you usually don't need to be qualified, just attending a training day, it really depends on where you live and who local authority you come under. I know that you need to be first aid trained thought but your allowed up to 6 months to attend a course.
Contact OFsted they have a website, and your local authority or surestart centre as they should send you a list of national standards you need to know when caring for children.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more info as I work in the childcare field :-)0 -
thanks for your advise, I was looking into childminding, the only problem I have is that I work at the moment week on and week off, so would be unable to give anyone set days which as I know myself is a must, so I thought I could run a creche and hire someone who is qualified, would you think this would work?
Iv been intouch with ofsted and surestart ect but find their websites difficult to understand! theres so much on them
I will keep trying thou, have emailed about 100 people!0
