dreamlife, the one i went to was in wolverhampton, and I went on a Saturday at about 3.30pm so they defo open on weekends.

if you go to their website at http://http://www.matalan.co.uk/pages/information/clearance-stores

you can see their clearance stores - if you select your nearest one, they have a local number for that store underneath the map, so you could ring them to double check the opening hours.

I've only been once so can't really comment on whether it's always good variety. From my one visit, I would say be prepared to search, because it's so cheap that it's BUSY and people wreck the displays! It seemed to be loosely grouped into sections at Wolves, there was kids (didn't look tho, haven't got any!), ladies nightwear (mostly 50p per item at wolvo!), summer wear, accessories, shoes, coats, plus size, essentials (like vests etc), jeans, work wear (ranging from just plain black trousers to full suits), then the menswear section was a bit lacking compared to the womens and was mainly work trousers or jeans, and then a (small) homewares section.

    hope this helps!
  • We have one near where I live. Its basically another primark Quality is decent...price is reasonable.

Though don't expect things to be brilliantly stylish. You get what you pay for.

Ah you are lovely people! Thanks for all the replies; popped over to the store during my lunchbreak today but only had time to get a FREE membership card and buy some tupperware (the queues at the tills and the Customer Service counter were v v long)

However, had a quick shufty around and there are defo some candidates for holiday clothes and homewares - the tupperware I got (actually Klickets stuff) was great value, especially since by DD keeps taking them to school and leaving them there! Also a colleague told me that their undies are good value esp. Wonderbras etc ;)

Sadly, no clearance stores near me, still musn't grumble, looks like a good quality find so cheers MSE-ers:beer:
