Time for the fightback

Hello all

Been a lurker on here for a while and finally posting, I have decided that today is the day that I stop ignoring the letters and the phone calls and make my first move towards being debt free

Without going into too much detail on it all the last two years have been a big struggle for me and my partner ( she has been raped and lost both her parents in this time) and with missing work/ trying to cope we have slipped into £6k worth of debt

Luckily I have nothing that has been passed onto baliffs etc at this stage but have 2 that have been passed onto collection agencies so will tackle those immediatly

The fightback starts here

I will put up my incomes/outgoings while at work 2moro so I can get some more detailed advice

    Hello and welcome.

I didn't want to read and run. I'm really sorry to hear about your partner, I hope you're both okay. I understand it has probably been hard on you as well in that time.

Well done for having your lightbulb moment.....keep posting on here as everyone will look after you, and no-one will judge you. (I've spent to much and am now paying it off!) We'll also keep you on the straight and narrow.

As you'll probably be told a few times yet, post your statement of affairs (on the first page of the DFW forum there is a sticky at the top), and we'll help you to pay off those debts.

    Good luck

  • Just echoing good wishes and hello!

Churchrat makes an excellent point, keep posting. There are thousands who read and post so things do get lost quite a bit - don't get disheartened if your thread sometimes drops a bit. :-)

Keep posting, as the people on here and a mine of useful info!

    Once again, welcome.
