Honeymoon nightmare!!

Hi All...
It's less then 2 weeks before the wedding we have just recieved a letter from First choice stating that the hotel we are staying in at the maldives has ongoing contruction work..between the hours of 8am and 8pm they will rebuilding one for the bars. Saw, cement mixers and drills will be in use...
soooo annoyed, we've spent £3k on a quiet honeymoon and relaxing break and they spring this on us. We are supposed to be flying out 22nd June. I spoke to them and they said we can choose another hotel but will have to pay if its anymore.:mad: , they will not knock anything off the holiday and won't refund us!!!!
My gut feeling is that they have had so many complaints they have had to send these letters out to cover themselves.
What can we doooo??

We are going there on 14th August.
Check out the forum on http://www.meeru.com/ my OH has been glued to this ever since we booked it (we booked this first before we booked the wedding) and that should set your mind at rest. No probs. We are going no matter what. We have friends who have been there and they had an absolutely fabulous time.
The resort is already booked up for most of next year and if you read the forum you will see that people go back again and again and book straight away after returning. This in my opinion is the best recommendation you can get.

It depends if there is any inconvenience.
We will be in a jacuzzi water villa so don't think it will bother us all that much anyway. Will see once we get there.
Having survived a nightmare in the Dominican Republic 2 years ago I don't think we will be complaining :rotfl:Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended
