Light sensitive Sunlasses

I wanna pair of glasses that go dark in the sun.

Specsavers have an offer on their reaction, the optician next door has a different brand for £200. Does anyone have an opinion on which is the best type to go for?
I know they don`t work behing the windscreen, this is not a problem. But would like them to change reasonably fast and go good and dark.

what do you mean they dont work behind a windscreen?
do you mean driving in them cos i have had reactions for 20 years and have been driving with them and i have had no probelms with seeing out of them or them not turning darker.

my last pair i got from tesco and i cant use them at all as they are of a different prescription ( long battle with them at the moment)

I understand they are sensitive to UV light, this does not penetrate a car windscreen so the lenses dont go dark when you are in the car. If they do that is a bonus.

I'm not so sure that it is a bonus. Even the best photochromics take a while to change back when, eg., entering a darker place such as a tunnel. I think that it could be kind of dangerous?

My employer's business, Fashion Specs Direct sells Transitions lenses, arguably the best around, for only £45. Add only £9.95 for a pair of specs and that's a pretty good saving compared to £200 you were quoted!

I'd be interested to hear other people's view on Transitions as I was under the impression that they were the best around.

I just got the Specsavers offer with free reactions.
Only the brown and gray tint is included in the offer, and tbh I would like them to be darker than they are. They are definitely not as dark as my regular sunglasses.

    Hope thats helpful.

I don't think they should advertise them as 'free with any glasses over £70' I went into specsavers when I asked about the deal (that had a big ad in the window) the assistant hadn't heard about the offer  eventually spoke to an assistant who actually knew what offers were on in the shop she showed me the glasses priced at £70, asked if I could use my NHS voucher towards payment for the £70 range, I was told with my voucher I would be entitled to a pair of £70 glasses free [Bonus - reactions and glasses for free].

Went to book the appointment only to be told that I wouldn't get the reactions as I was using an NHS voucher, I mentioned that it didn't state this in the offer the assistant told me that they couldn't allow NHS customers to have the £70 glasses plus reactions free as the £70 glasses are actually only worth £40, they can only charge the higher price to non-NHS customers.
I think it is a shocking practice, first time I've been to specsavers, shouldn't have gone!

Does anyone know the best place to get reactions type glasses with a NHS voucher, I also have a student card would I be entitled to discount anywhere?
    TIA

reasonably fast and go good and dark.

    Not easy AND not cheap.
Have been wearing photochromtic lenses for well over 40 years
Would now never go back to anything else But with my eyesight Specsavers were still the cheapeste over £550 ( vaifocals)
But question any claims that specsavers or anyone else uses the best lenses.
    Mine are by Zeiss.
Can hear the cries  why waste that sort of money on 'just; a pair of specs??
    My eyesight is worth it
