Claiming heating etc for working from home

I work mainly from home and am wondering if I can claim for lighting / heating in the last tax year.

The previous job was mainly from home plus quite a bit of foreign travel. The company offices were 85 miles away so I used to go in only 1 day a week on average, when not travelling.

The current job (since mid January) is again working from home, but the company is a US one so my home is the office this time.

Is there anywhere I can find out how much I can claim for - also can I get this retrospectively (I already sent off my P87 this year before someone told me I could claim for lighting/heating)?

Ahhhh just noticed you're employed - changes it a bit!

I suppose you could claim for these on your return as fixed, allowable costs related to your job but your best bet's to get this in writing from HMRC.

Other than that, not sure, sorry - does your company have other people doing your job? Could you ask them what they do?
