Expect to see fixed rates increase again ! Where is the scope to get someone to do a remortgage and pay 1/2/2.5% arrangement fees for fixed rates that are not a million miles away from where they will be on SVR's ??

Hi ThomasJames. I notice you say for US Advisers. Just so you don't get into trouble with the Internet Police, if you are a mortgage adviser you should have the Mortgage Adviser notice in your signature.
See this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=325378I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -

These are huge increases in a very short time.
Anyone else have clients who have been holding off remortgaging until lender rates come down? :rotfl:I am a Mortgage Adviser

Agree Bulldog, but they know best!
Now, I dont mean to be negative, I am normally very positive. However for a year or so at least, the broker is not needed or wanted by the major players.
They know that only 5-6 lenders are really lending, they have lower lending targets and are all increasing branch and retail staff. Abbey are making a huge push for it as they want a bigger share.
However they will not want to lend as much as over the last few years and the city trading and security stuff is not getting any better, inflation is on the up and house prices going down. The US has more to give (bad not good) and regulation is going to get harder and we will be forced in to a fee charging business model (Not a bad thing though).

I would say gents that although these opinions you are stating are personal ones and not professional, you aren't giving a good impression of MAs. There are alot of MAs in these forums that give excellent advice and comments like the quote above belittle that good name.0
