there used to be Japanese onions in the shops in the gap before the new British crop was ready, although they don't store well

never seen Aussie ones before though, I guess there aren't enough Japanese ones to go round with the ruined crop

what did we do before imports? do without? use up the last of the stored crops?
maybe the varieties grown commercially nowadays don't store as well as the (perhaps not so lucrative) old varieties?

But doesn't the song say that the world is just a great big onion...?

If that's the case it doesn't matter where it came from :rotfl:

    Sorry - couldn't resist.

    Coat, hat...
 I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

oh well, maybe not such a great mind then :p
  • hmmm I'm not observant local supermarket does onions from Chile and Mexico. For onions I always buy the UK unpackaged ones though.

If people prefer packaged though why is it that there is very little unpackaged stuff in the reduced section?
