Cough medicine points didnt work for me - never mind needed medicine anyway for asthmatic daughter. However, got some Boots multivitamins & minerals - 3 for the price of 2. 30 tablets are reduced to 99p (£2.3? for 60). When paying there were special deals and I only paid 99p for 3 lots of tablets! Hello ! I just thought that although boring I would say that there is no evidence that any cough mixtures work! Sorry ,but certainly worth stocking up on Calpol type preparations!http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/newreply.html?do=newreply&p=934755#mrs_lds wrote:Hi This is my first post Get to boots and purchase the childrens simple linctus paediatric children's cough mixture for 99 pence and get 100 points on yer ad card. This is a good way to stock up on cough medicine. Boots points are worth 1p, so by spending 99p you get another £1 to spend in boots. In other words this is free cash. Though of course be careful to only consume the cough medicine as directed.
Also, taken from a post elsewhere on the forum by bluep "Boots are offering 100 points on each child healthcare purchase - great for boots paracetamol sachets at £1.49 a pack, teething gel at £2 a tube, cough linctus at £1 a bottle...etc...."0 -
thanks for reminding me about this
i bought some more of the paracetamol sachets a few days ago, very handy but i need more of the cough linctus
great stuff that linctus, no real nasty stuff in it but it works very wellfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
I hotfooted it to my local boots and bought up some cough linctus and paracetamol sachets - shelf price at my store £1.25. Lo and behold at the till no extra points and charged £1.49 for paracetamol. Rather more bizarrely I was given less than my normal 4 points per £1. After checking the information on the shelf staff added 507 points to my card and refunded 24p.
I understand the reasons why the first two anomalies occurred (i.e. offers and price had changed but the shelf hadn't been) but can anyone explain why I was short seven points? Does this happen often? I don't usually check my points in quite that detail and only noticed because of sorting out the other 500 points.0
