why not make a frittata with pasta?
cook and cool the pasta and then make up an omlet mix(add whatever you fancy)
add cooled pasta to omlet mix and then cook in a moderate oven until firm.
works just as well as if you were making a traditional frittata with potatoes.

That's a proper Italian carbonara, not the "Anglo-American" one with ham, cream, mushrooms, etc. Nice simple recipe, too.

Definitely carbonara. So long as it is proper milk, not skimmed, it'll mix in with the egg and make a great sauce.

OK, just looked at the recipe that was given. That looks fab, and you could easily adapt it to use the ingredients you have. My version involves a little bit of cream as well, which is why I commented on milk.

But I was curious about the 'authenticity' comment: is it the presence/absence of cream that is the problem, or is there some other sauce common in the uk that mascarades as carbonara (those jars of carbonara sauce in the supermaket come to mind)? I'd like to be reassured that what I'm making is vaguely appropriate, if not fully authentic!

In Italy, carbonara is basically a very simple dish that just needs fresh eggs, good bacon, garlic & parmesan or peccorino cheese.
