Welcome Car Finance

Hi, i got a car from a small dealer the finence was through welcome car finance this was in may 2007,it had ppi though i was told i could cancell it within a month, so i did however it untill october for welcome to cancell it and only because i refused to make any more payments untill it was sorted, they then made a new contract for 4 years from october minus the ppi, however their was no mention of the money i had already paid on the new contract and the price was the full price of the car with no deposit shown,so the money i paid from may had disapeard, when i asked about this they said thats the way it works, also i never had a refund from the ppi i had already paid even though it stated on the contract if i canceld it within a month i would be refunded any money i had paid, now for the next part: i have 2 lots of bailifs bothering me for council tax i hav other debts too and i have not paid my car scince november,i never had a phone call or letter,i did move house in october though i did inform them of this also we kept the same phone number,i phoned them last week gave them my details and all they said is what can we do for you,so i explaind and the said i could start paying for the car again pluss 50.00 off the arears, but i clearly can not afford this, any ideas any one.

    Hi stevie,and welcome to DFW.

I am only around for a short while, this morning, so I am 'bumping' your thread back to the top of the page so that others can advise.

Very briefly, and having read your thread, I would suggest that you give National Debtline - 0808 808 4000, CCCS - 0800 138 1111, or your local Citizen's Advice Bureau a call. They are Debt Counselling Charities, fully endorsed by this site, and their advice is professional, confidential, impartial and free.

Welcome Finance are notoriously difficult to deal with, and it sounds as though you would benefit from some professional help.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Maybe make an appointment with your local welcome finance manager, if there is one near you, so you can go through your account in detail, getting them to explain each part of the process to you. And so you can point out where they need to make corrections in order for things to be as you understand them.....

Re the CCCS thing, definately relevent re your other debts and getting them under control as well as the welcome issue.
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
