I was hoping one of you could help (and not think my house is too skanky) with an problem I've got with my bathroom!
We used to attatch the bath mat to the tiled wall in order to let it drain, and now where it used to be put the grout is stained orangy coloured, I assume with some sort of mould?! What can I use to shift it? I've tried bathroom sprays, elbow grease and a stiff brush, but it is stubbornly refusing to move.
Any ideas?

Hi brassic,
Limescale can leave an orange/pink coloured stain which can be removed by scrubbing with neat vinegar....this works on some surfaces but I'm not sure how well it would work on grout.
The replies on this older thread may help more:

Hi Brassic
Yes, I get the orangy/pink staining which is limescale too, it depends how he water company filter the water/where it comes from etc. Bleach and a toothbrush is one way, another if I dare say it on here is the limescale removers that are out there, plus of course the vinegar.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
There are some mildew and mould cleaning sprays which I have found work better than bleach. I have a mould problem in the winter on some walls where the air does not circulate. One spray, no scrubbing and it's gone.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

I used cheap toothpaste and a toothbrush on my white grout to perk it up and that worked wonders!0
