An update on the situation...
A week ago the hosts suspend our database due to "maxing out their resources on one of their shared servers"... after some discussion they have allowed access to database again, with the proviso that if the resource issue occurs again then will simply delete the database.
To keep on their good side (their customer/technical support has been a pleasure.. so keen to keep on their good side) I've temporary disabled the "bee feature" so as to not repeat the incident.
At huge expense I've paid for a new sparkly dedicated server to host just property-bee.com.. and this is where the problems really start. Payment has been taken from my account, but the host has not been paid yet... so waiting for resolution from the bank at the moment
Cheers

They just cut people off, it'd be so much better if they'd got in touch with you to work on a resolution rather than cutting you off in your prime!
You only find out when your host doesn't provide something you need when it's bloomin' late and you've put the effort it.
Good luck.
And thanks for a great resource/tool.

It's difficult to judge the scalability of these things (bandwidth/resources)... and it was always a "close call" whether we could support 2000 or 5000 users (on a shared server)
I fully understand the hosts actions.. if they lost hosting of other sites because of it, then that costs them money.. that's the bottom line and I don't have problem with that.
Cheers

Blimey. i've been telling everyone I know about property bee. I think there must be at least 10 of them who have installed it. If everyone else is doing the same thing I think you'll jump over 5000 very quickly.

Rob.
I need to check the performance of the new server when I get my hands on it, but in bandwidth terms.. we're going from a limit of 100GB/month to a theoretical 3000GB/month.. so hopefully room for a bit of expansion over the next few weeks :T0 -
That's good. I'll keep my mouth shut till then0

Do you know how many people have registered to use the bee?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

In the first 5 days, about 2,300 (so yes i did underestimate the resources needed)
Given there's about 3,000 postcode districts (AB10, AB11.. AL1, B1, BA1... ZE3 etc).. I think (possibly when the bee reforms) we should get complete coverage within a week or two
Cheers

fantastic! Your Bee is a great tool, thank you very much for all your time and effort....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
