Football Boots smell like cat pee - Phew !!!

Options
My son plays football regularly and leaves his boots in the porch. Just lately I've noticed a terrible smell everytime I come in the door, and, after moving everything have tracked it down to his boots. They smell just like cat pee, and we don't even have a cat. !!

What can I use to stop them smelling so bad, will odour eaters or fabreeze just make the smell "different" ?

Any ideas anyone, before I look up gasmasks on eay !!

try sprinkling bi-carb in them over night. Remove in the morning and see if it makes any difference.

  • Maybe a stray cat came in and "sprayed" on his boots ;)

I've had a cat pee inside one of the boy's bootbags before now, so maybe cats have a thing about footie boots :rotfl:

I'd go with Calley's suggestion of the bicarb though as that usually gets rid of pongy smells :)
