How can I make a Mortgage Comparison Table?

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to make their own mortgage comparison table?

I have a small website that offers free advice to first time buyers and I would like to offer a free mortgage comparison service (as other websites do already). However, I do not have the time to visit mortgage websites everyday and update my tables manually. Surely, the big financial websites do this automatically.

This post is probably too technically minded for this forum but I am hoping that the mortgage advisors on these forums may have some idea of where I can go to learn more.

Thank you!

I'm not sure why you are trying to offer something which is already available elsewhere.

IMHO the best comparison tables are provided by moneyfacts, as they allow you to specify a lot of specific options such as how long to compare the deal over and whether you are happy with tie-ins. They also show "true cost" which a lot of comparison sites do not.

In which case, you need to be FSA authorised and approved. Assuming you are, then what does your compliance officer/department say on publishing this information? You may find they dont allow it or put so many restrictions on how you can display it that its no longer financially viable to do so.

They have plugins from the sourcing companies. These will either be the paid for more comprehensive data or the less detailed free data.

Tim, that website borders on irresponsible. You need to research your information a LOT more. And use a spell checker.
