GF paying Harrington Brooks, How to change to CSSC?

Are there any CCCS advisors available to help?

The GF is currently paying £150 a month to harrington Brooks for her debt, £27.50 of this is Harrington Brooks' fee.

How can we get off this plan and move to CCCS so that 100% of the payment goes to clearing the debt?

You could PM one of CCCS_Alan, CCCS_Emily, CCCS_Matthew or CCCS_Sarah.

But the CCCS helpline only works Mon-Fri, so they may not be around till tomorrow or later.

There are quite a few people here who have moved to CCCS from a fee paying company, so hopefully they may be able to answer you in the meantime.

    Thanks for the response.

It's a bit galling that these guys take such a large cut.

    I can imagine.

CCCS should have their phone lines open now if she has the chance to call them. 0800 138 1111.

They should be able to tell her how to start getting things transferred over. :)

You may find that your GF will have signed an agreement for an initial 12 months for them to do her account - you can usually leave after this period but not before

 I didn't think my opinion of these types of companies could go any lower, but that has taken it down another notch.

She would have been paying them for over 12 months.

I don't really know too much about this debt, it was before we were together. She is dealing with it but could be dealing with it more effectively (ie with cccs for example).

I'll try and get her to call them this evening.

Fair point, but these companies do not force anyone to sign up, and want paying for the work they do.

For everyone on this board using charitable companies there must be plenty of unenlighted people in debt paying companies to manage their debts :(
