weekly or daily shop?

I am debating about whether to change to a daily shop rather than a weekly one. There would be less waste and more fresh ingredients. Does anyone else do a daily shop?

I shop pretty much daily, but that's so I can do smaller shops and use more coupons. I'm not very good at remembering everything at once so prefer to do it a bit at a time and decide what I want for dinner on the day.0

I find that if I visit the supermarkets daily I spend more because I get tempted by special bargains and/or reductions that I see, which I wouldn't if I wasn't there...if you see what I mean! Impulse buying, however small, racks the spend up.
So I've gone back to weekly having tried daily but it didn't work for me. YMMV of course

you also need to factor in travelling distance, particularly if you have to travel by car. You need to save a lot to justify a daily 3miles each way trip!I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -
I do a monthly online shop for basics and heavy items, and shop every couple of days for fresh stuff. I don't have a car and I cycle, so I am limited by what I can fit into my rucksack on the way home from work. As a result, I don't tend to get too carried away.0

I shop pretty well daily. We have an Asda and Morrisons each about 2 or 3 miles away and I'm always passing one or t'other on my way somewhere, so that's when I pop in. Makes it harder to work out what I'm spending each week though, all those 8 or 12 pound little spends all add up! If I do a weekly shop all the nice stuff gets used up within a couple of days, so I just end up popping out for more. And I can't just blame the kids...DH and I will go on a chocolate safari late at night if needed!0

We've just swapped to doing 1 big monthly shop. I go to a farm shop once a month (about 5 miles away) and get all our meat for the month and freeze it; then tesco once a month to pick up whatever I need that is cheaper there and/or on offer and then sainsburys probably about twice a week as I'm buying my milk from there so need to go every 3-4 days (although when the 2 for £2 bottles offer finishes I'm going to the corner shop for our milk, save using the car). We also have a veg box delivered every week and the first shop of the month to Sainsburys I pick up enough rice/pasta/passata, etc to last us the month. I've also found we have far less food waste now as the veg box is just enough for us for the week so it all gets used and it keeps a lot longer than supermarket veg plus I've got used to getting our meat/fish/chicken out in the morning to use that night. I used to get meat/fish/chicken weekly from supermarket and always threw something away because I hadn't noticed it had gone past it's date.0
