i dont see the fuss about copying photos. I never mind but obviously it is out of order if you are selling the same thing at the same time.0

Copying photos? It doesn't show the real item's condition and may mislead bidders as to the real item's looks and condition.0 -
Its happened to me before and It just made me really angry. I ended up emailing the seller and let them know what I thought of them and before I had a chance to report to Ebay they withdrew the auction.
To be honest if the seller asked me after my auction had finished to use my photo then I wouldn't have minded. It is just manners at the end of the day.0 -
I had this problem too and they listed at the same time as me which made matters worse, I emailed them and reported them to ebay but got a really threatening message back from the other ebayer. i have now blocked them from ever bidding on my items just incase they tried to be backhanded0

Yeah, I'd recommend against such a course of emailing them - best to let eBay deal with it rather than risk such a reaction!0 -

The best course of action is to place a special HTML code within your listings that will prevent anyone copying your pics.
If a person trys to right click it says copyrighted!!
If you would like the code, Please PM me.0 -
Unless they disable scripts, peek into the HTML for the direct link, or have a floating toolbar, like I do.spor7y wrote:The best course of action is to place a special HTML code within your listings that will prevent anyone copying your pics.
The best way to protect your pics is to customise them with your user id. 0 -
PING> trademark:

There's more, but it's a big page. Those are the main points.Copyright Basics
How do you know if you're infringing someone's copyright, trademark or other rights when you create your listings? The guidelines below will help you determine if your item is infringing (breaching copyright law) or prohibited (not allowed on eBay). Disallowing these items on eBay protects you from liability and helps make eBay a safe place to trade. Selling or buying any of these items could put you at risk for civil or criminal liability. Your listing could be ended early and you may be suspended from eBay.
eBay Guideline:
The fact that material is posted on the Internet does not mean it is in the "public domain" or otherwise free to be taken, copied or used by others. Creators of Internet content probably have copyright, trademark and other rights in the material they create. Copying, modifying and possibly linking to content created by others could expose you to legal liability.
eBay Guideline:
Copying is not permitted: when you prepare your listings you generally should use only material (text, photographs, etc.) and trademarks/names that you created or own yourself or licensed from the owners.
eBay Guideline:
Unauthorised linking to photos is not permitted: you cannot link to somebody else's picture (so it appears in your listing) without the owner's permission.0 -

On the other hand it is not, in my opinion, the crime of the century.
On the third hand what if you do an advert by picking the best bits out of several other ads. ?
