Great South Run-Portsmouth/Southsea
Options
I am running in the Great South Run in Portsmouth/Southsea on Sunday 9 Ocober. I plan to make a small holiday of it and am arriving on the Friday afternoon and leaving lunchtime on the Monday 9need time to recover).
Can anyone advise of local sightseeing and recommend good and cheapish places to eat.
thank you.

lots to see and do.
Would heartily reccomend Gunwharf Quays, Ok shopping and nice bars and restaurants. Also hopefully our long awaited Spinnaker Tower will be open (only 5 years late!) There is also a whole host of things to do down at the historic dockyard, including the Mary Rose. Isle of white is a short hop but you may not have time.
will post more if i think of other things
Cheers
Steve

For some of the history of the area I found the Southsea/Portsmouth walk very interesting.

My step mum will kill me as she works at the D-Day museum, it is well worth a visit with its amazing embroidery.
Heard the historic walks are good.
