What checks are made when moving your mortgage?

Hi all.. Just a quickie.. I have a mortgage on a fixed rate till November. Myself and my partner are both self employed.. just wanted to ask if we move lenders do they go through all the bank statements and paperwork as if you were applying for a new mortgage?? Thanks all & happy Saturday!

    Well it depends..most lender, if you're self employed will want to see accounts or an accountant's certificate.

    Alternatively, if you credit score well, some high street lenders such as Abbey and C&G will 'fast-track' the mortgage meaning they won't usually require any income proof.

    Finally you could (but only if you absolutely need to) go for a 'self-cert' mortgage where no income proof at all is needed.

    Make sure you contact your existing lender to see what they've got on offer.
