What do these scanners do? Sorry, don't visit Tesco very often!

    Hi

You can check the price of an item on it before you buy.

Very useful for the misprices policy at Tesco - i.e. if we charge you more than the price we're showing you get a refund and you get to keep the goods.

See the Tesco Misprices Thread for details of items potentially incorrectly priced at a Tesco near you!

Thanks Josie for your info. My nearest Tesco is probably Cirencester - I live in the sticks - can't recall seeing any scanners, what do they look like/ are they sign posted?

    Hi guys

    Quick update for you

    Ashford (Middlesex)

The two listed are actually the same one and unfortunatly it has not been working for the past 6 weeks  - anyone know how to reset them?

There is also another one hidden away in the clothes area but this is also not working.

    Sunbury (Middlesex)

Both are switched on but don't seem to work. You get a "please contact a member of staff" message come up anytime you scan something.

    Thanks All.

    Updated today.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I went into tesco's in Horsham last night and when I finally found the scanner (big blue box), I tried scanning something and it didn't respond. The screen said "Please scan item", I tried putting the item at all different angles but still nothing, if it is broken would it still say "please scan item"? Was I doing something wrong?

2 in the Redditch Tesco Extra.

One in the clothes section near to the fitting rooms, and one in the pc games section.

I think the one at Five Ways/Edgbaston may have been removed. I've been in a few times and not been able to find one.

Yeovil Tesco Extra have a working scanner at the edge of the clothing section near the men's underwear. They also have a non-working scanner next to the dog food.

Axminster Tesco have a working scanner in the middle of the aisle one down from the coffee.

The scanners in the North Harbour Tesco extra have either been switched off(clothing aisle)/removed(crisp aisle) or displaying "please contact a member of staff" (stationery aisle) for about 6 months (could be longer - do not visit there very often) I also have NEVER found a misprice there  - although as I said, I don't go very often. Hope this helps!.
