What air freshners are cheap and long lasting?

Hi all ..

I have found the glade round circle glass one with red gel (sorry cant remember the name) to be the strongest but it runs out so quickly .. i have tried oil burners but with young kids i cant put it on a lot of the time... im looking for a cheap alternative that work and lasts?

    Hi bubbles,
Have you thoght about using potpourri placed in dishes, you could keep refreshing it with a few drops natural oils.
Placed out of reach of little fingers of course.
    Hope this helps.

  • There are some very strange chemicals in a lot of air freshners. They have been linked to breathing disorders, depression etc. Avoid if possible especially if you have young children or are pregnant.
    Nice to save.
  • The_Biff is spot on about air fresheners... it's a little known fact that the air OUTSIDE most houses is less toxic than the air inside. Forget air fresheners, open the windows !!

I LOVE a nice smelling house...but...since actually thinking about the chemicals (and I think I watched something on tv where they showed that we carry the stuff in fresheners in our blood  ) I don't buy them. I saw that "How clean is your house" episode - they also made a little pump spray freshener using some vodka and a few drops of any essential oil in an old pump spray bottle. I like that idea....apart from the waste of good vodka :D
