I wondered if anyone had tried this on the makeup brushes. My Mum is after the retractable lip brush and I told her not to buy it until I had a look on MSE for a deal or a voucher of some description!! Lo and behold, here is one :j

To answer my own question, I tried this morning with the lip brush at the No 7 counter, and it went through no problem. The young girl was great. She said she hadn't seen the voucher before but would try it and it was fine. No beeps. Went straight through. I suppose another SA might have looked at it, read 'Makeup only' and just said it wouldn't work. But it does. Just did the one transaction, but will print some more off and use them in the week.

    Hope this helps someone :D

I've just used my second one - £1.25 for a nail varnish - I had no bother using it but I think someone else did earlier because the 'saturday girl' on the till waved the voucher at the 'saturday boy' on the one next to her and said in an overly loud and somewhat put out voice 'apparently we do accept them' before she rang it up.

I smiled sweetly, not wanting to draw attention to myself. After all I might want to go back :)

I think Monday morning at work i will be printing a few of these vouchers then :-)
  • Hi, I used three of these vouchers today in separate transactions all at the same tillpoint with same SA. No problems whatsoever. One of my items was the reduced price lipgloss which in effect was completely free. No where on the voucher does it same one per customer so nobody should feel awkward by using these vouchers. Btw, on another thread I read that photo mount stickers are often found on the clearance shelf and the ACM is currently offering one voucher per customer 200 extra points when purchasing a photo frame or album. However this scans with the photo mounts (currently 25p clearance) so Boots are actually giving £1.75 away completely free. Some people's ACMs give different vouchers so may not apply to everyone but you've nothing to lose by trying. I live in the Bristol area. MSE has saved me loads over the last few weeks - long may it continue x:j

I used 2 yesterday, separate transactions, workrd great, thank you.But point of interest...

SA rang up nail polish, I offered voucher, which scanned fine, she asked for £1.25, I gave it and was ready to run, when she called to the supervisor, "I've got another of those vouchers, but this one is real", my ears pricked up. It seems someone had offered one ealier that day, which was printed in b&w, mine was colour, and the previous one hadn't scanned, mine had.
I discussed with the supervisor, whether she thought I could print another one off and use it, she agreed I could.
Moral of the tale seems to be, make sure your copy is a good print....think its going to be mascara on Monday...lol

  • it really should make no difference what colour the voucher is strikes me as petty really. It almost some SA's and branches begrudge you claiming this even though its a boots offer dear me. Going to get loads of Make up tommorow/
