Don't Book Now - Save some money

I have been watching some package holidays for June 09 with a top tour operator for the last 2 weeks, when I checked again yesterday they had increased the price by £1100 :mad: . How can they justify such a large increase in such a short space of time? I will be holding onto my money until they reduce the prices again to what it was originally. I have tried the same tour operator to book the accommodation and flight separately and can beat the new price by about £800, so might be worth checking out if this works for you.

I have booked flight and hotel separately for the last six years or so and found it a lot cheaper. Unfortunately, I have been told I must not fly again due to a health problem. I used to use the same airline (Monarch) as they kept a record of the fact that I needed leg room and therefore did not charge me for it. We always had polite taxi drivers and their vehicles were super clean (mainland Spain and Majorca). I have read that airlines are putting their prices up due to the present situation with fuel prices. Nothing you can do about that except shop around but I would pay the extra just to be able to fly during the day.

Also, when you use a tour operator you need to pay the balance eight to twelve weeks before you go. I bought the flights a couple of weeks before we went and the hotel was paid at the end of the holiday.

Derbygirl, have a look on line for the hotel you are interested in; see if they take direct bookings.
