Deed of postponment help required

Hi People

Hoping somebody can help with deed of postponment. Currently in middle of remortgaging and i have been told i need to get a deed of postponment and agreement from lender. The bank's solicitors wanted to charge £200 to do this for me, but in spirit of saving money i thought i could do it myself.

Does anyone know how to get an already drafted one or other sources of info for this one?

Thanks for any help i receive.

    Hi Kevin

You may well find this charge is what your lender (the secured loan one) is charging rather than the solicitors cost.

The solicitor will need to get the lender to approve the DOP.

You would be advised to speak to the secured loan lender first to see if they're likely to approve it. For example, if you've missed payments with them or are leaving hardly any equity etc it's unlikely they will.

I have seen many mortgage cases get offered and then have the DOP declined at the last minute.
